Hey all and sundry, I came across a part of trivia on how the broomsticks in the Harry Potter movies had a vibrating mechanism. Anybody heard about this?

Oh, those are the Nimbus 2000 replicas launched back in the day by Mattel, aren't they? The broomsticks started vibrating when you straddle them. I believe it was supposed to simulate the perception of flying.

I consider there was a lot of finding out for companies like Mattel from the controversy. They must be more watchful in testing and predicting how their items can be perceived or misused.
