hey all and sundry, recently my hot water heater has been making my house feel like it's pulsate. It's a pretty weird sensation, does anyone know what could be creating this?

sounds like an issue with the pressure relief valve. It may possibly be triggering the water tank to constantly refill, triggering the vibrations. Definitely worth getting a expert to check out it out.

@user, is your water heater electric-powered or gas-based? Because electric water heaters are generally less noisy compared to their gas counterparts. Also, sediment buildup may well cause such vibrations.

it's a gas-based heater. I've never truly cleared out any sediment, may possibly be a good place to start.

also, you may want to contemplate 'water Hammer. ' Essentially, it happens when you shut-off the water re source too rapidly. The water rushes to the closure, causing pipes to shake and thus leading to vibrations.
─ water Heater Vibrations
